Update patch level of ADT from https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/kepler/?

Hi guys!

 

I\m just trying to use Eclipse 4.3 (Kepler) with ABAP in Eclipse. I have a few issues there, but before I try to address this issues, I wanted to upgrade to the newest patch level.

 

I have installed ADT just by using URL https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/kepler/ in Eclipse "Install new Software" feature. It worked well, but the version, you can download from SAP download center - zip file SAPBASISAIE00_7-10013262.ZIP (has in info patchlevel 7) is newer (f.e. com.sap.adt.core_2.19.6 versus com.sap.adt.core_2.19.7).

 

Unfortunately, when I try to use Eclipse's update feature to  update from this downloaded ZIP file, it doesn't work because of unresolved dependencies.

I tried to add some more repositories:

 

Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) 2.9.x Service releases    http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/emf/updates/2.9.x/

Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) Update Site    http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/emf/updates/

Mylyn 3.10 for Eclipse 3.8, 4.2 and 4.3    http://download.eclipse.org/mylyn/releases/3.10

SAP ABAP in Eclipse  Zip    jar:file:/D:/Users/semond/Downloads/SAPBASISAIE00_7-10013262.ZIP!/

but I still get an error (I don't install HANA Tools):

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

  Software being installed: ABAP Core Development Tools 2.19.7 (com.sap.adt.core.feature.group 2.19.7)

  Missing requirement: ABAP Communication Framework 2.19.4 (com.sap.adt.fwk.ci.feature.group 2.19.4) requires 'org.eclipse.mylyn.commons.feature.group [3.6.0,4.0.0)' but it could not be found

  Cannot satisfy dependency:

    From: ABAP Core Development Tools 2.19.7 (com.sap.adt.core.feature.group 2.19.7)

    To: com.sap.adt.fwk.ci.feature.group [2.19.4]

 

But Mylyn is already in the list of Available Software Sites (and enabled).

 

So is there any easy way, how to update the patch level without having to install each missing requirement one by one? Is it planned to update the https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/kepler/ site to the newest patch level?

Problem with encoding

Hello everyone,

 

I'm an ABAP developer since 2008 and recently I decided to learn ABAP on eclipse.

I was able to do the installation and to start developing but I've been struggling with the fact that i'm portuguese and I've made my code comments in my native tongue, that have a lot of characters like á, â, ã. For example the word "férias". Now when I open this code in eclipse all of these characters are "destroyed", in the example "f�rias".

So, when I click save it gives me an exception, ExceptionResourceCharacterSetNotAcceptable.

I've tried changing the encoding in some places but with no success.

 

Is there any other way to solve this problem?

Error after updating to AiE 2.28 - No login possible

Hello,

 

after updating my AiE Eclipse installation to 2.28 i can no longer login into our development systems.

 

An internal error occurred during: "Logging on to system .xxxxxx".

com/sap/mw/jco3/eclipse/Registry

I am trying to install ABAP in Eclipse  and getting below error.

does any one any idea how to resolve it.

ABAP in eclipse connection problem

Dear Experts

 

  Just now i have installed the eclipse and all the necessary components that's required for development for ABAP and UI5. When i try to connect the back-end ABAP system. I am getting the error as below

 

Logon on system failed(System abc does not support Eclipse based ABAP development tools). The error screen shot is also attached .Now my questions are

 

1) What is the minimum patch level, Components and which EHP level is required, What version of Net weaver ?

My current Net Weaver pack is 7.01 and EHP 4

 

2) What are the necessary roles and authorization objects required for the eclipse ABAP development?

 

3) My SAP GUI release 720 and patch level is 7.

 

4) My purpose is to develop UI5 application and host it in cloud. What are required for development. My back end will be SAP ERP for new class will be created and in UI5 the methods will be accessed. This is my idea. For this development what all the thinks required?

S_ADT_RES not found in my ECC

when i want to add S_ADT_RES in my profil SAP_BC_DWB_ABAPDEVELOPER, the object is not exist.

 

Please can you help me how i can to create it or I can find the OSS note to applicate?

Hi Colleagues.

 

I'd try to install ABAP Development tools for SAP NetWeaver on my HANA Studio Version:1.0.56.

 

I followed instruction below

 

  1. I followed instruction In Eclipse, choose in the menu bar Help >
    Install New Software...
  2. In the Install
    dialog, enter the update site URL https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/juno
    in the Work with entry field.
  3. Press Enter to
    display the available features.
  4. Select ABAP
    Development Tools for SAP NetWeaver     and choose Next.

  

Unfortunately, after I click Next button, I had following error.

 

 

Software being installed: ABAP Connectivity And Integration Development Tools (Developer Edition) 1.0.4 (com.sap.adt.pitools.tlf.devedition.feature.group 1.0.4)

  Missing requirement: ABAP Connectivity and Integration Development Tools 1.0.4 (com.sap.adt.pitools.tlf.feature.group 1.0.4) requires 'org.eclipse.emf.query.feature.group [1.5.0,2.0.0)' but it could not be found

  Cannot satisfy dependency:

    From: ABAP Connectivity And Integration Development Tools (Developer Edition) 1.0.4 (com.sap.adt.pitools.tlf.devedition.feature.group 1.0.4)

    To: com.sap.adt.pitools.tlf.feature.group [1.0.4]

 

If anyone know how to resolve this?

Eclipse 4.4 (Luna) just arrived some days ago, but there is not update site on for that new SAP Development Tools for Eclipse Eclipse version yet.

 

Anyone heard of a ETA for this?

AIE: Debugging in Eclipse is not possible

Hello together,

 

we have two development systems in our SAP Landscape. Both with the same Patch Level 7.31 SP4. On one of it, it is not possible to set breakpoints in AIE - source code editor and therefore the eclipse debugging is not working.

 

I receive the Error Message while "Toggle Breakpoint'. See attached screenshot.

 

Breakpoint cannot be toggled.

 

Reason: ABAP debugger for Eclipse is not available in System xxx.

Use SAP GUI for debugging. Set breakpoints there.

 

 

On our other development system the debugger works without any problems in AIE!.

 

Any ideas?

Writing code in eclipse

Hello everyone!

I have no expirience programing on ABAP at all. Only in C++, C# and Java. But I'd like to start with making some simple programs. I have a book about APAB language and also I have installed the ABAP development tools into my eclipse. However I found out that if I want to programm something  I have to connect to ABAP back-end systems at first. I am begginer and I can not do that. So can I create  ABAP back-end system on my computer? May be someone can explain how can I write code in eclipse without connecting to  the ABAP back-end system?

The scenario is as follows . I need to make an application F from 0.

 

 

According to the guide that I attached in the note on page 29 I need to take the second option

 

: 2/ SAP NetWeaver 7.00, 7.01, 7.02 and 7.03/7.31 < SPS04:

 

Please someone with a guide where I explain that if I have that kind of version in the SAP Netweaver Gateway 7.02

Missing authorization for new project

Hey folks,

 

I have a problem getting started with abap in eclipse.

When I want to start a new project I receive the following message, when trying to connect to the system:

User <user> is not authorized to access system <sid> via ABAP in Eclipse (No authorization to access the resource  /sap/bc/adt/compatibility/graph.)

 

I have the done all the things described in the following blog:

Enabling ABAP in Eclipse

 

Can someone help me?

Editor for message classes in Eclipse? (ABAP in Eclipse)

Hello everybody,

 

i'm really very happy about the AiE, I started earlier with Java and waited nearly a decade till SAP came with this great tools for Eclipse! Finally developing in ABAP is (almost) fun.

 

To my question: Is it possible to edit Message Classes (which are usually edited in SE91) in Eclipse? I mean native ADT Tool.

When I click on some message class I get an error: Feature COM.SAP.ADT.MESSAGECLASS.messageclass_0.1.0 not available

I checked the Eclipse folders and there is nothing with messageclass in Folder Features (nor it is in the zip Package downloaded from SAP Download center), but there are two files in Plugin folder:

 

com.sap.adt.messageclass.ui_2.13.2.jar

com.sap.adt.messageclass_2.13.2.jar

 

Does anyone get this error too? Is there any solution, or do I have to edit message classes using "Open with SAP GUI..."?

I'm using newest ADT Version 2.13, Eclipse 4.2 and the Backend System is ECC 6.0 with SAP_ABA and SAP_BASIS 731 SP 007.
