ABAP in Eclipse in HANA Studio
Hello,
I have seen several blogs about ABAP in Eclipse. The prerequisites always mention Eclipse release 3.6 or 3.7.
I have noticed that the HANA Studion is based on Eclipse 3.8.
Can I install the ABAP for Eclipse Plugin in the HANA Studio or do I have to install a second IDE with the version 3.6 or 3.7?

Where-Used function doesn't list all hits.
Hello,
the result list of Where-Used function in ADT is significant shortly as the same list in SAP GUI. The list is not full even for the where-used call for a variable, which used in one programm only. It happens without any error messages in ADT.
Could you tell me the reason of it please?
ADT version 2.36, SAP 7.31 sp13

Enhancements to Eclipse for Abap
Hello,
my question is, where do i have to post questions to do some very little enhancements to abap for eclipse?
I would like to mention the following things:
- Completition of comments:
If there is a multiline comment and you want to add a line to it (at a middle position), the comment should automatically extend to that line ( like java does it). Currently, this is only a blanc line.
- add templates for class creation:
we have coding guidelines, where we have to enter some predefined thing to newly created classes ad function modules. Would it be possible to do this automatically?
- Format of date inserted with templates
Is it possible to do a custom formating on this date (${date} should look like 2015/03/25) How can I do this?
- get the name of the current module / method / class to insert a comment via a template ( do a comment in method getPrice( ) would give a return of getPrice as a variable
If there are questions, please ask. I hope someone can help answering this.

ABAP CDS Views join performance
Hi,
I had a question regarding the performance of ABAP CDS views (or Open SQL for that matter).
If the tables in my join condition have large number of columns, but select_list and join conditions contain only few columns out of these, does this have an effect on performance. For example, if my left table of join has multiple columns which are not used in join condition or select list, will this be slower than the scenario, when the left table has less columns.
Example:-
... from tab1
join
tab2
join
tab3 on tab2.id = tab3.id
on tab1.id = tab2.id ...
Does the number of columns in tab1 affect performance, if the fields for join and select list remain same.

Error in forward navigation after SNC logon

Hi, I am following this tutorial:
"Installing SAP Development Tools for Eclipse"
configured my proxy settings (I am sure the data is correct, ip, port, user, password).
and go to Help, Install Software and paste the url SAP HANA Cloud Platform
and get this error:
Unable to read repository at https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/luna/content.xml.

sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
Any advice how to fix this error?

When open the Eclipse has an error

After i finish the installation and open the Eclipse, I have met an error like below:
ABAP communication layer is not configured properly. This might be caused by missing Microsoft Runtime DLLs VS2010. Consult the installation guide or download page for further details on how to install this component.
Error getting the version of the native layer: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\TONY\eclipse-SDK-3.7.2-win32-x86_64\eclipse\configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\bundles\316\1\.cp\lib\sapjco3.dll: Can't find dependent libraries
Does anyone tell me why?(Microsoft Runtime DLLs VS2010 have already installed in the system or anyboby could give me the link to down the

Errors in Eclipse - while installing new software.
Hi,
I get following error while trying to install new software. I tried both Kepeler Service Release 2 and Luna versions and always get similar errors. Any idea what is missing?

Conditional watch point in Eclipse ABAP
I am new to SAP world. i am getting familiar to abap in eclipse.
Now when i set conditional watch point during debugging,my program is getting terminated. i don't why this is happening.
but when i use watch-point without condition is working fine.

ABAP in Eclipse with an older SAP System?
Hi everybody,
i'd like to use eclipse for coding in ABAP. In every guide i've read ther were requirements which our sap system does not have.
So i'll ask you: is there a possibilty to get ABAP in eclipse used with our system?
we've got:
- Kernel-Release 7.01
- SAP ECC 6.0
- SAP_ABA Rel. 701 Level 7
- SAP_BASIS Rel. 701 Level 7
Perhaps i have to install an older version of eclipse? if that is the solution: which one do i have to install?

no authorization to access resource /sap/bc/adt/activation
Hi,
Our developer is facing an authorization while activation 'No authorization to access resource /sap/bc/adt/activation. I have assigned below 2 roles to the user.
SAP_BC_DWB_ABAPDEVELOPER
SAP_BC_DWB_WBDISPLAY
This has access to /sap/bc/adt/abapsource/* /sap/bc/adt/activation, /sap/bc/adt/activation/*. To debug further, I ran a trace and got 2 missing authorizations
URI : /sap/bc/adt/abapsource/occurencemarkers
type : RF
name : SADT_REST_RFC_ENDPOINT
Authorization Obj.
Authorization Obj. : S_ADT_RES
URI : /sap/bc/adt/activation
type : RF
name : SADT_REST_RFC_ENDPOINT

I'm confused as I see these values in the roles assigned. Is there anything I'm missing ?

Bad Performance "Open ABAP Development Object"
Hello,
after the upgrade of our development system from 7.31 to 7.40 SP7 i recognized bad performance opening ABAP development Objects. 
In SE80 the search is much faster as in Eclipse.
Does anybody had a solution or OSS-Notes which can improve the performance search Abap dev. objects?
