Error creating an ABAP project with ABAP Developer Tools 2.31.5 and SAPGUI 740

$

Context:

I have recently installed SAPGUI version 740 (7400.1.0.1093). Next to that I have installed Eclipse version Luna with the latest version of ABAP Developer Tools from

https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/luna(2.31.5).

Problem:

When trying to create a new ABAP project I get the following error:

Location 'C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common\saplogon.ini' does not point to a SAP GUI configuration file.

Question:

Since SAPGUI 740 a new type of configuration file is used: SAPUILandscape.xml

I have a local version of this file for own SAP Logon entries and a local server version for company SAP Logon entries.

How can I configure my ADT environment so it works together with SAPGUI 740?

Syntax coloring

Hi all,

Is there any way to change the syntax coloring of ABAP in eclipse beyond the possibility to change the color of, e.g., all keywords? What I want to achieve is to color certain keywords in a different way than most keywords. In particular, I want to have METHOD and CLASS colored in a different way from the remaining keywords. This would make finding methods and local classes much easier.

By the way, from what I know from my colleagues, one major reason preventing them from changing from SAP GUI to Eclipse is that they find it hard to visually separate the different methods from each other - which is easier in SAP GUI, even in source code representation, because of the horizontal line which is drawn between the methods. Having something like this in Eclipse would also be very helpful (and would actually make my syntax coloring request obsolete).

Cheers,

Johannes

I create in the cloud the hana instance, install the hana studio in eclipse, create some tables and others, and want now to install hana abap, to endly install HANA NW BW trial -> But as said, i obtain the above error, where "partner '155.56.219.22:3300' not reached"

Hello everyone,

After i finish the installation and open the Eclipse, I have met an error like below:

ABAP communication layer is not configured properly. This might be caused by missing Microsoft Runtime DLLs VS2010. Consult the installation guide or download page for further details on how to install this component.

Error getting the version of the native layer: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\TONY\eclipse-SDK-3.7.2-win32-x86_64\eclipse\configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\bundles\316\1\.cp\lib\sapjco3.dll: Can't find dependent libraries

Does anyone tell me why?(Microsoft Runtime DLLs VS2010  have already installed in the system or anyboby could give me the link to down the

Microsoft redistributable runtime DLLs VS2010 SP1 (x86)).

Hi community,

Is there a possibility to show the object description like SE80 in project explorer of Eclipse?

I believe it would be very helpfull to implement this feature if there is no possibility today.

To show the description at other places would be helpfull, too.

At ABAP Development Tools in Eclipse, we are developing simple and elegant data preview tools which offers functionality similar to SE16, and also an advanced free-styled open SQL editor to execute and preview results.

Here is a “lab preview” of the Modeled Data Preview editor that we are building, where the users can preview data in any Dictionary Tables, views. The video is 4 minute in length.

Here is a “lab preview” of the freestyle open-SQL Data Preview editor that we are building, where the users can write complex open-SQL queries and preview its results rapidly. The video is 2 minute in length.

Modeled Data Preview

Modeled-DP.png

Some highlights of the modeled data preview would be

  • Users can specify the size of the previewed result-set.
  • Users can add any number of filters. (Internally it would simply mean an AND condition in the WHERE clause)
  • Specify any comparators, e.g. EQUALS, LIKE and also IN (as in the above snapshot)
  • Sorting (results are fetched from backend up sorting)
  • Local filter can be used to further filter in the previewed result set
  • Graphically view all the distinct values. Table chart, bar chart and pie chart would be supported
  • View the logs of all the queries executed

Open SQL Data Preview

openSQL-DP.png

Some highlights of the open SQL data preview editor would be

  • Users need not create any report programs to execute the open SQL query
  • Users need not create the ABAP types to hold the result set of the SELECT query(The tool will take care of it internally)
  • Users can progressively build and test the open SQL query. Once ready, simply paste the query into your ABAP program

How can I compare two separate programs?

Hello,

How can I compare two different reports or classes in Eclipse?

It's easy to compare a single report's version history or with a copy in another system, but the option to compare ZREPORT1 and ZREPORT2 is somehow not available or hidden.

Am I missing something obvious? I couldn't even find anyone else asking this question...

Hi,

Our developer is facing an authorization while activation 'No authorization to access resource /sap/bc/adt/activation. I have assigned below 2 roles to the user.

SAP_BC_DWB_ABAPDEVELOPER

SAP_BC_DWB_WBDISPLAY

This has access to /sap/bc/adt/abapsource/* /sap/bc/adt/activation, /sap/bc/adt/activation/*. To debug further, I ran a trace and got 2 missing authorizations

URI       : /sap/bc/adt/activation

type      : RF

name      : SADT_REST_RFC_ENDPOINT

I'm confused as I see these values in the roles assigned. Is there anything I'm missing ?

Any suggestion will be of great help.

ABAP in Eclipse in HANA Studio

Hello,

I have seen several blogs about ABAP in Eclipse. The prerequisites always mention Eclipse release 3.6 or 3.7.

I have noticed that the HANA Studion is based on  Eclipse 3.8.

Can I install the ABAP for Eclipse Plugin in the HANA Studio or do I have to install a second IDE with the version 3.6 or 3.7?

Thanks,

Michael

Error sapjco3.dll

Hi gurus,

I tried to run Eclipse right after installation and adding the UI5 addon but it gave the attached error (no sapjco3 in java.librabry.path).

I tried the option from the link I found on SCN (Re: error when run the eclipse first time), it does not help.

I also searched for sapjco3.dll file in the Eclipse folder but it did not find anything.

That is why:

  • I downloaded sapjco archive from SAP Marketplace
  • put it in a folder and extract
  • added that folder to the PATH system enviroment variable on Windows Server 2012
  • and then it gave the error about the version being too old (D:\sapjco\sapjco3.dll has version "720.612", but required is at least version "721.215”)

If you have any idea how we can move past this error it would be quite helpful.

Thank you in advance,

Marius

External view for Calculation view ADT 2.7 - 2.54

Hi,

We are running BW 7.4 SP5 on HANA and I would in relation to that like to create an External View to consume this calculation view.

However I see that I cant and that ADT 2.7 is required for this - when I then browse the software catalogue on sap marketplace I see that 2.7 hasn't been maintained since 2013 and that it is 2.5 that is being maintained now... I have got 2.54.2 (developer edition) installed.

Hence in total I get a bit confused.

Any idea why that is case and if I at all should create external views to consume HANA artifacts?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, everyone.

When I try to create new ABAP project in Eclipse, Eclipse totally stop with no error message.

And I have waited quite long time, it doesn't work at all. (Memory is enough to run program.)

So that I inevitably have to force-quit Eclipse, and can not create ABAP project.

I re-installed all the Eclipse and ABAP tools extension, it was same.

Anyone who have had same problem before?

below is my development environment

Mac: OSX Yosemite 10.10.5, 1.7 GHz, 8 GB

SAP GUI: 7.40 rev2

Eclipse: Luna 4.4.2

java: 1.8
